For those of you wondering if I am working on the third Milana Legend or not, I have an update for you. Having finished the second draft, I took the summer off to play in the sand and refill my creative side. I printed the entire thing out and stuffed it in a snack cabinet (which you may remember, from my summer confession). And now I'm back at it, working on my Scribble & Slash draft. (This is probably waaaaayyy too much info, but for those of you curious about the writing/editing process, read on) Usually I scribble and slash through the entire thing, and then I have to convince myself to sit down to the overwhelming task of fixing it all on the computer.
I'm not doing that this time. This time I decided to do it one chapter at a time. This allows me to be completely ruthless. I think there was more hand-written ink on the last one than printed ink (that chapter was a mess). I opened a totally new Scrivener file, and typed the whole thing in. Then I read it out loud to myself and proofread. So this feels slower, but I'm getting two drafts at once, and when I finish a chapter, they are clean and I forget I'm reading when I go through them (which is my goal). It's beta reader ready. One chapter at a time. Comments are closed.
